I feel like its time to post a reminder to each and every one of you fabulous folks that even though I do not comment much, or reply to wall posts.... I read everything you write and it means the world to me. My way of keeping in touch with YOU is through posting every day on this FB. It seems most logical to write to all of you at once instead of writing to each of you individually. Especially when Im on an 8-event tour all over the globe. Please please consider and remember that with travel times, lack of wifi access, time differences, and actually working about 12 hrs each convention day.... I simply do not have the possibility to answer you guys individually. There are a lot a lot a lot of correspondences I receive every day. Many messages and comments are questions about how to make costumes, how to overcome certain difficulties in cosplay, why I choose to go to certain cons and not others, how to get into cosplay, and other queries that can not be answered in 5 minutes. It would not be fair to YOU if I answered your question in 5 minutes. I would only want to answer your question if I could devote the proper time to it. But time is a luxury I have not had for many years. I view each hour of the day as a precious commodity, and constantly think of ways to make my days as efficient and productive as possible. Running a business requires a tremendous amount of time. Making costumes requires monumental amounts of time. Packing and traveling to events take time. And posting on FB, deviantART and updating my website requires time. I do all of these things myself. There is no magic behind it. Its time spent, dedication and the self-discipline to work when I want to play a video game, read a book or even meet friends for dinner. Time is a luxury for me. Free-time is even more precious and rare. Thankfully, I enjoy my time spent on work very much, and I urge everyone to go after a life where they can genuinely love their work-time, and play-time. But back to the topic of replying to your queries: Even if I set aside a solid 2 hours per day to answer questions and reply to comments/wall posts, I could only get through a fraction of them. That would be unfair to those whos messages I could not get to, and the backlog would pile up forever more. I have always tried to communicate with the public as honest and as often as I can. My life is an open book. You guys know more about me than my family in China probably! I write detailed construction notes whenever I post photos of a new costume to my website. I have made videos talking about various topics. I post my thoughts about all kinds of topics in cosplay here. Often. Passionately. Honestly. And I have spent a lot of time and money on a website with up to date information on the events I go to and everything about myself that I can share. And the most important way for me to communicate with you is in person. At events. I speak at panels at every single convention that has invited me as a guest and you can always come by my booth for a chat. Even if its a busy day, I will always take the time for a chat when Im at my booth. And my panel hours are all yours. Come to a panel and we will talk. I might have questions for you! In the end, I believe that you guys would rather see me spend my time working on new costumes, producing new images and products, as well as going to events so we can geek out together, instead of sitting in front of a computer answering questions every day, all day long, right? Im constantly thinking of new ways to get more info to you. Often I worry that I post too much, ramble too much, share too much of myself. But then I think about all the things I want to tell you, like taking selfies with camels, and I get excited to share my life with you. The truth is that I do care. And I do read your words. And I love you for them.
