I feel so much closer to Jesus than I did as a Christian. It is so fascinating to consider that truth. Its such a paradox that religions can actually get in the way of having a relationship with whom they claim to love most. I feel compassion in that regard, not judgment. Just noticing. I also dont feel a need to save anyone from religion, any more than I wish for a religious devotee to save me lol. As we begin to trust 1) ourselves and 2) our inherent connection to the Supreme Being (my word is God, or Source or Creator) then our relationship with God and with ourselves becomes more personal, more real, less superficial, more eternal. But religions teach humanity to question themselves, their worthiness and value in the eyes of God. And religions also perpetuate the doubt and insecurity of humanitys inherent connection to its Creator. Therefore, what we get is what we have in our present society -- rampant insecurity, doubt and completely conditional love, because so many feel they are only lovable by God under certain conditions, hence it is all they can feel for themselves and for others. For each who has ventured in another direction, trusting yourself and trusting your inherent connection to God, I hope you are discovering and experiencing the love, the sense of inner peace and the alchemy of divine compassion we thought we would find within religion. The unconditional love of God we found within our own hearts is perfectly divine and restorative, just like Jesus said, taught and demonstrated. It is a re-birth. A resurrection of the Holy Spirit within the human. I do choose to believe everyone is trying their best given what they know. And yet what we know can change, so we change. And our world and sense of it changes. To me, this freedom to explore and experience is another connective tissue to the Divine energy field of God. Exercising this freedom is evolution.
