I feel sorry for what happened to Maddie but the parents are to blame for this situation, Not only did they leave their children to go out socialising, they just admitted on Crimewatch that when they were taking it in turns to go check on the children they just listened at the door and didnt go in and check properly, the only reason Kate eventually went in the room was because the door was open.
