I feel that Singapore is not for all people, especially those people who went through NS and still cant find a job, a place in life and a reason to be great and remembered in our world. They arent Singaporeans, they are rejects of the world. Sad! A small state cannot be just ordinarily successful. To be relevant, we have to be extraordinary. - some Singaporean veteran diplomat He added, Singapore is a Chinese-majority country with neighbors whose own Chinese populations are a less than fully welcome minority, and whose attitudes towarss their own Chinese populations are too often projected upon us... a Chinese-majority multiracial meritocracy that has been extraordinarily successful compared to its neighbors is often taken as an implicit criticism of differently organised systems. Being extraordinary does not make us loved, but it is the price we must pay for survival and autonomy. Why should we pay the price when we cant be extraordinary?
