I feel very blessed to be a photographer. I get to meet, spend time with and capture moments of some of the most extraordinary people. Last week I had the opportunity to photograph one of the bravest people I have ever met. Ailis, is a beautiful 15 year old, has just been diagnosed with Osteoscarcoma. Knowing she would soon be losing her hair from chemo, Ailis and her family, wanted a photo shoot before hand. She had already been through her first round of chemo which left her very weak, so for her this was no easy task. We decided on a few inspirational quotes and began. The images I captured are some of my absolute favorites. She never complained...not even once. Her strength is simply beyond words. She left me speechless. Her mom, dad and three siblings are one of the most loving and supportive families I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Please say a little prayer for this beautiful and inspirational young woman and her family. And if you see her amazing mom, give her a big hug. Ailis has truely touched my heart. We can all learn from her. She said it was okay to share her photographs.
