I feel very sad for Sri Lanka, the country I was born, where there was total peace the past 5 years after more than 30 year war, solely due to one man, the just defeated President Mahinda Rajapakse. One of the Presidents cabinet members left the party less than 50 days ago and defeated the strong man. Now though I am not on the ground in Sri Lanka presently to know the exact facts behind the defeat that shocked most of the Planet for it is unprecedented for any challenger to defeat the incumbent within 50 days in a general election even in a small country like Sri Lanka. The rumor is that the Mahinda Rajapakse aka MR was corrupted and stole $ 10 Billion from the government coffers and appointed close family members to important positions in the parliament. I have read MR brother who is the Speaker of the house was elected by the people so was his son. His other brother is the Defense Secretary who was the part of the team that helped defeat the most ruthless terrorist group in the Planet, the Tamil Tigers aka LTTE. It is undisputed USA has to date spent more than 5 Trillion US dollars and counting but far from wiping terrorists group that are popping from everywhere since the invasion of Iraq which alone cost nearly 3 Trillion US dollars. I truly believe if someone came with an offer guaranteeing to wipe out Moslem terrorists from the Planet US will happily pay more than few hundred Billion dollars. However, MR the only leader in the Planet to wipe of the most ruthless terrorist in the Planet, who are also rumored to have trained Al Qaeda terrorists, natives do not believe should receive any compensation though I believe his brave action is priceless!! I also believe, considering the fact USA with all the Trillion dollars of spending is long away from wiping out the current terrorists, Sri Lankans people should have voted a special referendum to compensate President Mahinda Rajaakse maybe 20 Billion US dollars for wiping out the Tamil Tigers for good. NowNow
