I felt nauseous reading the responses to this question, so I added my own. Yes, military expenditures on occasion can produce technologies that improve our lives. But wouldnt you expect a couple of wins when the government has spent $ trillions $ on military expenditures? And that so many people can celebrate the occasional benefits while ignoring the extraordinary costs is a great indictment on the education people receive in America. Instead of spending trillions of dollars on military expenditures, the government could create far more good if we simply got out of the way of people like Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and Marc Andreessen.
