I figure this will be the last I say about this. Before I head off the nightly inner eyelid inspection, I would like to address the Republicans soon to come into the majority. As a result of the election two weeks ago, you were given a wonderful opportunity to do something good for this country and the American people. You’ve been handed a handful of keys to the congressional vehicle. I only ask that you do not do anything stupid. Do NOT try to impeach the president. For one thing, it is pointless. It won’t work. It won’t happen and if you did, chances are he’ll be out of office before you could get it done. That’s an exercise in futility and a waste of energy. Do not shut down the government. He has laid a trap for you. He WANTS you to take the bait. You know even talking about that is going to come back and bite you in the ass. He doesn’t want to work with you. Get over it. I plead with you to try to pass legislation that will restore jobs and improve our economy. Turn the small businessman loose to use his or her ingenuity to create, invent and provide new jobs. Be leaders not ideologue assholes. The American people voted you in to make some positive changes. Don’t let us down. Think before you move. Put the country first. That is why we sent you there. This should not be about political revenge or payback. It is that kind of petty thinking that has us in this mess. To quote Cher, “Snap out of it!” You have been handed a golden opportunity. You CAN make a positive change. We know what we’ve been doing isn’t working. Now is your chance. Do something selfless. Take advantage of your opportunity and do something good. If not, we know how to exercise our right to vote and you KNOW we will use it.
