I finally got these guys to be still enough to take individual photos. This is the litter from Odessa Texas who almost didnt make it because when found their mom was so emaciated she had no milk. They were impounded in the Odessa Shelter and rescued by an organization there who found someone to drive them all the way to Denver and another volunteer met me in Vail. That was over a month ago. There were 6 but little Katy in our profile picture was adopted. The DNA test will be performed today on the smallest, Little Minnie Pearl, and the largest, Austin. It takes approximately 4 wks to get the results back but I thought it would be fun to do a guess the top two breeds in their genes. Did you know that a litter of puppies can have different fathers? The two little ones look like chihuahuas. They are ready for adoption but their mom, Mumzy, will remain at the sanctuary until her heartworm treatment is completed. Shes definitely got Basenji in her because she does the Basenji Purr when excited. One of her pups did it the other day but I couldnt tell which one! From left to right: Alice (female) with one beautiful blue eye and the other is partially blue, Odessa (female) who is a little chunk, Austin (male) 12 lbs and who has the SWEETEST little personality, Little Minnie Pearl (female) 3 lbs and the tiniest and most bold personality of them all and their mom Mumzy.
