I finally remembered how to spell Jiddu Krishnamurtis name. And therefore, can now pronounce it to people when informing them of his awesomeness. In this particular session, he is asked Who are you? To which Jiddu replies; Is that an important question? Or, would you say, who am I? Not, who I am but who am I? And if I tell you who I am, what does it matter? It would just be out of curiosity. Its like reading a menu at the window. You have to go into the restaurant and eat the food but merely standing outside and reading the menu wont satisfy you hunger. By food, he means spiritual enlightenment. By reading the menu, he means knowing who he is. Simply knowing who he is will not satisfy a persons hunger for spiritual enlightenment. For that, they must know themselves. His purpose is merely to guide with questions to things people dont generally think to question, while encouraging the questioning of ones self.
