I finally slept last night knowing that Clyde was finally safe. I have to say that I really felt bad for Clydes previous owner John. John had to leave his home on September 5th thinking that when he left his dog behind with these people that Clyde would be taken care of. He was trusting them to do right by Clyde. John started to hear from others on the street that Clyde wasnt getting cared for by the people he left him with. John, lacking transportation to check on Clyde had reached out to a friend who does have a car, asked if he could take Clyde to the shelter because of what he was hearing. However, his friends work hours were the same as the shelters so he could never get Clyde there. John then also tried to call the cab companies to see if they would take him to retrieve his dog and take him to the shelter. However the cab company stated they couldnt take a animal in the taxi. When John was watching us try to get Momma dog from the abandon house on Sunday from his apartment window, he knew he had to reach out to us for help with Clyde. When Denise and I went with John to the home where Clyde was staying, for John to remove him from the property, it was so sweet to see how happy Clyde was to see John. It was very bitter sweet for John though. He was so happy to see Clyde and to know he was going to go into safe hands. However, he was in tears when he saw what bad shape Clyde was in. He said to Denise, I had no idea he was this bad. John had told us that he had Clyde for 3 years, since he found him as a stray puppy in the neighborhood. He was his companion, an indoor dog that sat on the couch with him and got lots of love and attention. Clyde had never lived outside and used for a guard dog. It tore Johns heart out to have to leave him and move to a place where dogs were not allowed and now seeing him like this tore his heart out even more, knowing these people had tossed him out like trash and never looked back or cared about Clyde enough to even fed him. It was even more heartbreaking for Denise to see how upset Clyde was as his owner left the car to go back to his apartment and Clyde trying to go after him and looking so confused as Clyde watch his owner disappear again. Little did Clyde know that his owner had just saved him from slowly starving to death in a backyard. I am sure by the end of the night when he was in a warm bed, having plenty of food and water, back into a home and getting belly rubs, that Clyde knew that his Daddy had finally come to save him.
