I finally went home tonight, after 36 hours or so, and bathed, ate (though thats about all I do at the hospital, ugh), chatted with my family and played with my kiddos and husband. I came back to the hospital around 11pm only to find Lakey Lou lying in her crib with bright eyes. I held and loved on her and then decided it was time to take a walk. We moseyed around the floor talking about pictures and things on the wall, she babbled, smiled and touched each print. The second time around I put her in a wagon and she lit up every time I gave her a big pull. We looked at the pictures again and just had fun as mommy and daughter. Its moments like this that remind me why I need to be here with her {as much as possible}. Happiness is healing. Connection is rewarding. Love is powerful - interaction can help her overcome the tough and woozy moments. I am honored to be Lakes mommy and thank God that I am able to be by her side every day and night. Now, we both need to sleep - lets hope we can! :)
