I find immense comfort in this verse: Jesus wept. Why? He knew He would raise Lazarus from the dead. He knew it served a great purpose of revealing the glory of God. He knew it was a situation that He was in control of, that would ultimately turn to something beautiful. He wept, I think, because it portrays the depth of His great love for us. In that simple sentence, its revealed that even though He is in control & knows the other side, He is not too almighty to sit with you and take on your pain with you. To hold you up and say I know, sweet one. I feel this alongside of you. Show us Your glory & goodness, Jesus. I am hungry for it & believe in it & count on it. He is GOOD, even in whatever darkness you might be facing. And He is not too far removed, He is not too holy that He doesnt feel and empathize with what your going through.
