I find it amazing the effect a crowd has on a battlers material. For example I will use myself personally. When I listen to battles I dont listen to see what the crowd cares for. 80% of the time I am not nearly as impressed and much of the time something that got zero reaction gets one from me. The recent Daylyt battle for example, I wouldnt have prepared any other way. I used the first round to address criticism and show I could do the bar thing too and the second round I went back to what I do best. Some people will like one verse more than then the other. Live in person there were plenty of times through both verses where I had huge reactions and had to wait. It doesnt come out as much like so on video, moreso like awkward reactions. Well I will admit the overall feel was clearly off due to elements out of my control I wasnt mad at my performance aside from 2 slight stumbles. People say If Real Deal does like he did vs. Magic. Battle rap is not a physical sport. Battle rappers dont sustain wear and tear that makes them unable to duplicate another performance. I dont say ok B. Magic is the world series and everyone else is batting practice. Regarding that battle however think about this: What if when I did the RNT exception thing, the crowd would have deemed it corny at the time. What if it got little to no reaction, how many people would really have rocked with it. I am a reaction away from looking like Im trying to hard and looking like I am dope. There is many of my own bars that receive reaction that Im confused about. Not that they are wack but theirs many other lines I have more impressive. I guess my main point is dont judge off reaction, really listen. Ness Lee probably gets half the reaction in the ring as some of your favorite battlers yet is twice as good. I dont mean crowd control either. I mean people reacting to some lines that are shit and not catching other lines fast enough for that group reaction. Dont be a follower, if you think something is wack have a reason for it. The fact there is even a such option now as a quiet room battle is proof that fans are putting too much on crowd reaction whether gassing or Over thier heads or Dead. Stop following mass opinion. Illmac didnt fall off or do poorly vs. Clips to me just as Hitman vs surf wasnt as amazing as its put up to be. Listen to the words people. Judge by concepts, bars, angles, approaches, originality, delivery, aggression, performance, shit a million other things....not crowd reaction.
