I find it refreshing that so many in the Katy area are awakening and realizing that their self announced Conservative leaders are anything but. Talk is cheap but the proof is in how they govern. And the self proclaimed Conservatives on the Katy ISD School Board have never governed in a Conservative manner. The worst offender, in my opinion, has been Joe Adams, who has gone so far as to try to suppress Free Speech. Certainly, this has been true on the fiscal front. Again, it is refreshing to see that the community is waking up to this fact. However, members of the board have also had their problems with socially Conservative issues. A little known incident from several years ago was when the socially Conservative Texas Board of Education was locked in a major and well publicized battle witht the Liberal wing of the board over textbooks. Your suppossed Conservative leaders, Rebecca Fox and Joe Adams, actually went on the record in favor of the Liberal arguments at that time. Why, you might ask? Thats easy, their superindendent, of who they have become nothing more than a mouthpiece for, was in favor of the Liberal wing arguments. It is long past time that the mostly Conservative people of the Katy community call out their leaders who wrap themselves in Conservative clothing but do nothing to actually govern in a Conservative manner. My question, however, is where will you folks coming to this revelation be in May? Where will you be in a year from now? Will you still be watching your school board and demanding accountability and Conservative, principled leadership or will you have gone back to sleep. Conservatives, in general, have been a hard group to keep motivated and engaged for the long term. The fight is not over next week, folks.
