I find most films unwatchable because of the excessive and light hearted violence. Last week, I watched The Heat, the cop comedy with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. In it, people, innocent and not innocent, were killed by bullets and bombs, and no one in the movie seemed to care. Sandra Bullock and her cop partner just walked away with a comic quip. The audience apparently likes death to be treated lightly. Killing a man or a woman, blowing him or her up, is no big deal. Its just the set up for a punch line.
