I find myself overwhelmed sometimes by all of the other posts on FB. I struggle to not constantly compare myself to what others are doing; their releases, their reviews, their successes. I am no better or worse than anyone else out there. Each of us works hard (very hard) for what weve accomplished. Only those people who havent created something and displayed it for the world to see, will wonder what Im talking about. I applaud every person who has ever taken the chance to live what they dream. Authors, artists, musicians, performers; anyone who has opened themselves up to the critical eye of their peers. I may not always like what I read, or see, or listen to, just as others may not like my work. But I do admire the guts, the sweat and tears, the am I good enough? or what if no one likes it? questions, that we all face and push through in order to share our heart and soul. What Im leading up to is this...as of today, I am no longer comparing myself to others. Ive worked just as hard to get to where Im at as other people have. I will continue to take steps forward; each step leading me to something new. I am thankful for every contact that I make; every person whom I meet. Small steps will get me to my destination just like big steps will. Ill just have more of a chance to enjoy the scenery along the way.
