I find myself questioning my religious values, more and more, after having toured France and Italy. I bitterly detest Rome, though it may be the home of the Pope, a supposed holy place. It is in ruin. France was beautiful, though I cared little for it. I question the people who live there, in their false senses and high airs. Is God not displeases? Can these people not see the wickedness behind them? I would much rather stay in my hotel room, and work on my writing, that tour these cities of "culture and sophistication" with there ignorance. They are as closed as the Puritans, as wild as the Indians, as crude as the slaves.
