I find myself reflecting on the power of forgiveness, which has such a place in Islam and Christianity. In Islam a victims mafi spares the accused of punishment for even murder. As a character in a zindagi serial says We ask Allah to forgive our crimes but our so unwilling to forgive each other. Can we bring this power of forgiveness to the forefront to bring a reconciliation between all faiths. Forgiveness and decorum in our utterances.Can we all, of whatever faith, vow to think before expressing our view on whether our utterances reinforce hatred and divides us humans. Can we try to find solutions on how faith can coexist without fear or force. All of us educated whose analytical and reflective abilities have been reinforced by knowledge, surely can find solutions to soften this environment of vendetta. Will forgiveness to the killers of the cartoonist make for a new beginning of a better world.
