I find that I am becoming more and more Scrooge-like with many of the holidays. It started with Valentines Day, then took over my birthday. Now its worked its way to Thanksgiving, and Christmas is sure to follow. I think its crazy how as a nation, we choose to exploit the warm-and-fuzzy feelings of thankfulness and family, while we sweep the fact that a holiday has been built around the massacre of thousands of people, under the rug. Then we celebrate with gluttony and binge shopping. Nonetheless, I am thankful for the blessings in my life. I am just tired of being robbed of them. I am constantly praying for miracles in multiples areas of my life. I pray for the health and well-being of my loved ones. I pray for guidance to a life of financial stability and happiness. And I pray that someday, the shattered pieces of my heart will be picked up and put back together by the one who will walk the road of life with me, hand in hand...and never let go.
