I find the narrow-mindedness of some people on Facebook to be - TopicsExpress

I find the narrow-mindedness of some people on Facebook to be truly amazing! Ive read my first set of comments regarding the upcoming Sheriff election and I am SMDH..... To use the fact that the current Sheriff was himself a victim of a crime as a reason to degrade his abilities as Sheriff, has me scratching my head! To insinuate that beer bottles in a police car imply that the Law Enforcement Officer, whomever it is, is drinking on the job is just ludicrous! To post that an employee wasnt fired for an indiscretion of sharing photos is utterly ridiculous..... Lets assume the following about the bottles in the car since you all want to assume: Lets assume that the Law Enforcement Officer is called to a Minor Consumption Party, locates a quantity of beer, and rather than send some young people to jail he uses his discretion to have the young people dump all of the beer onto the ground and contacts their parents to come and retrieve the child. Then, lets assume that the officer places the bottles in the rear floorboard of the patrol vehicle with the intent to put them in a dumpster for disposal. Then lets assume that a call is received of a horrific accident or a Domestic Dispute that the officer has to respond to, and after all of these events the officer forgets the bottles are in the car. Is that a plausible explanation for bottles in a Law Enforcement Vehicle? ABSOLUTELY! As far as photos being shown from a crime scene, do you know all of the facts concerning this? Did that warrant termination or was other disciplinary action taken enough? Before you judge based on your research, please make sure that your research is COMPLETE! I have seen pictures posted on Facebook Statuses that should probably have people fired from having a Facebook Account! Was it a moment of indiscretion that these people regret? Probably. Should they have there Facebook accounts deleted (sic: Fired)? Probably not. People have a habit of worrying about a small brush fire and dont notice that the whole forest is burning down around them! Dont get caught in this trap, look at the overall picture instead of a few select snapshots from a 3+ year period of performance. Better yet, take the time to ask those who work with these men their opinion of their performance as Law Enforcement Officers! I think your research would be far more complete by doing this.
