I find the whole voting thing a bit off. It assumes that at least one candidate is the right one, and that the people will know how to pick them. But what happens when any choice is the wrong one? For this reason, I believe all ballot papers should contain a box labeled none of the above, and, if democratically elected, none of the above would replace useless pollies with useful empty space, and potentially a blank canvas for implementing a better (potentially merit-based) system.
