I find this an intreging idea in light of the negative attitudes of many especially in Arizona. Ethnic studies, Chichano(as), African American studies, Latin American Studies studies of Asian Cultur and art writings of people of color seems not to be suspect. Small groups are trying to accuse the Historians of creating alternate realities but in the end it is an attempt to desenfranchise workers from the real history The üntold Stories of workers and their struggles and the building of a nation that was forced to acknoledge our important roles in building this nation. Lets begin with creating a listing of important books and writers for various cultures Then must reads. I personally am very concerned. I returned to my home town offering to donate my Chicano studies books for use in the library I hoped to give access to the young people of our town. The librarian told me that If i Donated them they would be put to good use by placing them in teh used books sales to raise money for more important works. Needless to say I refulse to give the books over to the library and now share on an individual basis with students, I am sure would appreciat the works.
