I find this article and its positing absolutely fascinating and compelling. Whats more, I buy into its potential zeitgeist, if you will. That the U.S. is, in fact, divided not into 50 states, but eleven separate nations. This breakdown makes eminent sense to me based on not only the current voting habits, by region, in the country, but on a interesting supposition made in the article, that many citizens have become self-segregating and have moved into parts of the U.S. that seem to fit their lifestyle, religious and political beliefs, and yes, racial and ethnic makeup. Im not sure how I feel about this yet, but this writers commentary and research seem real to me.
