I find this is something I really resonate with because I used to - TopicsExpress

I find this is something I really resonate with because I used to have probably the most negative mindset towards money. Im guilty of pretty much all of these, but have since learned otherwise. I grew up very poor (hello welfare! lol) and basically thought that all of my friends who were even middle class were just lucky and rich. If you had a new car (less than 5 years old) or a pool or even a house that had 2 bathrooms, you were mind blowingly well off to me, haha. So, I grew up not having a very positive mindset and feeling like I woudlnt really amount to much. I wanted to break the mould at heart and build a better life but I didnt know how. I didnt realise that by having such a negative mindset towards things like money, that I was actually destroying my chance of gaining any kind of financial freedom. Unfortunately for a lot of people its a touchy subject....I guess the question we have to ask ourselves is truly why? Unfortuantely we cant change that money exists at this point in time, but we can work with what we have and utilise the system in place to help build better lives for ourselves and our families. It takes a little change in thinking, but literally anything is possible with some heart, determination and self development. Trust me, when Rob first wanted to build his business and reach for a higher standard of living, telling me all of his dreams and goals (and we were miserable at the time, mind you so I wasnt believing any of it) - I was actually offended. I remember quite clearly saying I grew up poor and I didnt need money and Im fine and happy, so why do you think we need it now? (actually I was very unhappy haha, but my ego was way too strong for me to see otherwise) I didnt want to admit that a lot of the stress I had in my life unforunately was caused by my and my families financial situation, and well, if wed known a better way, maybe some parts of our lives would have been a little easier growing up. Now that Rob and have pushed through the hard yards and are doing well, I fully understand how becoming financially free and independent can take a lot of stress away from your life. I know that Im going to be fine now, so my mission going forward is to help as many others, including my family, friends and anyone I come across re-write their futures and ease their stress, even if its just by a little bit..... the first step though, its all in that mind set. xx It may seem a harsh article, but there is a lot of truth in it, so please take it with a grain of salt (I say this because I know a year ago I would have aboslutely hated reading it, lol) Never let those dreams go ~
