I find this truly fascinating! The connectome is basically a map of how neurons in the brain are wired together. So far, the only complete connectome known is that of the roundworm, C. elegans, which has 302 total neurons. That connectome map was artificially modeled and used to control features of a robot. Some liberty was taken for lowering action potential threshold values, but the overall neural network somewhat closely maps that of C. elegans. However, whats astoundingly significant here is that there is no operational program written for the robots obstacle behavior. The behavior it exhibits is purely a derived pattern of behavior based solely on the connectome mapping. Truly remarkable!
