I finished my labor, I did my 9 to five, I appreciate my existence and glad to be alive, My weekend is here, my long work week is over, Time to get the leash and walk little ol rover, I pick up the morning newspaper which everyone should read, Bad news might unfold but so can a good deed, Ahh, smell that fresh cut grass, The children wearing backpacks and walking off to class, I wave at the passing truck of the friendly neighborhood milk man, I greet the happy sanitation worker who empties out the trash can, The birds nest on the mulberry tree comes to life with chirps, The cooling cherry slush the loving Mothers child slurps, The warm air fills us up with gladness, it should always be this way, Tomorrow is uncertain but be happy for today is a pleasant day.
