I finished the Corvette Paint job, SICK the carbon fiber looks very cool, 3 days of paint prep and masking, the base black with silver carbon grid took some doing, 2 days of blending the black into the silver to look real. 5 coats of clear over the carbon look, then dry for two days, then wet dry sand with 1200, then 1600, then 2000, till smooth after 2 days, then 2.0 polish compound with a wheel buffer. 3 day I worked all night between coats .... the result is crazy cool. pretty good for a home garage paint job. that a paint shop wanted to do for $9,000.00 to do it the way I wanted, and I doubt they would have done it as well as I did. the only problem I had was my compressor kept accumulating water in the line while I was spraying even with a bleed valve. I managed to pull it off. Its so glossy shinny that it looks like a mirror reflecting everything around it.
