I finished up working today around lunch time. My customer lived - TopicsExpress

I finished up working today around lunch time. My customer lived in Saint Augustine and as I headed North on Interstate ninety five I was lost in the tasks I have to perform today. Pulte Builders has a large community and as I drew near, I noticed the huge American flag they fly over the community was at half staff. "I wonder who died?" was the first thought that raced across my engaged brain...only for a moment...then I remembered...the nations servants working in the Pentagon, The innocent thousands working in the two world trade centers, the fire fighters and rescue workers who lost their lives attempting to save others, and the handful of brave...BRAVE...citizens, who took matters into their own hands, and sacrificed themselves to save and ultimately Honor others. Their memorial should be more than a blackened scar on a Pennsylvania field. Their legacy should be more than a brick and mortar memorial, their determination, and fortitude...and bravery...yes and even sacrifice, should be born by all of us in our hearts and minds. Always. Not just on the anniversary of their death, but every time the flag is raised, for me...the red stripes will always be a symbol of the blood shed at the hands of tyranny, or those lost defeating it. Peace friends, but not at all costs.
