I first met Mr Cirks in 8th grade health class. I called him Mr Certs as he gasped and asked, Like the breath mint? He always knows how to make you laugh, even at your own mistakes. Through the following 4 years of high school, Mr Cirks was one if the most influential people in my life. From star green hand my freshman year all the way to Outstanding Ag Alumni from SIU Carbondale many years later, Mr Cirks was an integral part of my education, career and success in Agriculture. First and foremost an amazing human being, Mr Cirks has planted, nurtured, and culminated so many of our lives for the greatest yield possible. A sincere Thank You to you, Mr Cirks. Youll never know the ripple on the plant that you have created by just being you. Enjoy your retirement! If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people. Chinese Proverb Many Blessings, Marcy Christiansen-Heepke, Class of 1993.
