I first ran across this recording in the form of an old LP set I - TopicsExpress

I first ran across this recording in the form of an old LP set I found at a garage sale. I made a recording of it first on cassette and then CD, and have listened to it many times because I love it so much. After being out of print for about 40 years (copies of the original LP set are easy to find now on eBay), it has finally been rereleased as a CD, but you can also hear the recording in two parts on YouTube (there is a link to part two after this one finishes). George Bernard Shaw was an atheist and his satirical view of the concept of heaven and hell (and all the hypocrisy that goes with it) is priceless. What I remember first is the idea from this recording (which is just one act from his play Man and Superman) that people who are in heaven can easily go to hell if they wish, and the people who are in hell can easily go to heaven. The only thing separating the two is the Gulf of Dislike which is impossible and eternal. Charles Boyer is Don Juan, and he is visited regularly from heaven by his friend Lucifer [Charles Laughton]. https://youtube/watch?v=6-MQsrp0ztg
