I first saw the terrifying disaster film The Towering Inferno(1974) when I was 13. I havent seen it since. It frightened me because on October 24, 1990, the house my parents were renting burned down and we lost most of our belongings. Red Cross put us up temporarily in a hotel until adequate shelter could be found. I saw the movie shortly after the fire, and I remember Fred Astaire played a dramatic role in this. For many years I refused to watch his films. Now of course I am a huge fan thanks to Royal Wedding. :) Can anyone tell me if any of his other dramatic performances are worth watching, or name a few? One I know of is On the Beach. Any recommendations?
