I forecast an influx of new families moving to France and other countries over the next couple of years, so their children can go to village schools with small classes, town schools where there are perhaps 200 - 300 children in the school. OK the Lycees have more students, but then most have dorms for children who live to far away and of course we have a bussing system to get children to school, and government funds to pay to parents who have to use alternative transport for their children to attend the Lycee of choice. Our schools (in France) are multinational, and you need to speak the language of the country to get on in school, the majority of non french national children do exceedingly well. Parents who struggle with french as a second language have to pay for a translator if they need assistance. The only time you dont pay for a tranlator in France is in the court system. We moved to France because we could not get a place at a decent secondary school for our daughter without moving house, so we moved countries instead, although that was not the only deciding factor, it was one of them. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2738047/Truth-no-one-admit-Britain-s-primary-schools-bursting-seams.html
