I forgot a very special Anniversary a couple of days ago. The 26th - TopicsExpress

I forgot a very special Anniversary a couple of days ago. The 26th was Karma Kittys Gotcha day Anniversary. Hubby worked for an apartment complex in Martinsville, In. We also lived there. A tenant called my hubby the morning of the December 26th, 2005. She said a kitten had been laying in the hallway area in their building for over 24 hours. My husband quickly hurried over to that building. He saw a little tiny ball of black fur all curled up in the corner of one of the steps leading upstairs. He picked the kitten up and it just lay limp in his hand. Quickly he rushed back to our apartment and he walked in and handed me the kitten. It was still laying limp and lifeless. I carried the kitten to my bed and laid it down. I hurried in the kitchen and filled a bowl with food and one with water. I carried the bowls back to my bedroom and placed them in front of the kitten. The kitten moved for the first time. It went right to the food and started eating like it was starved. We were only allowed 2 cats there. We only had Punkin and Charlie then. But we decided to keep the kitten anyway. The following morning we took it to the vet. We found out the the kitten was a girl. Just a couple of months old. She was quite healthy. Only one thing I asked the vet about. I had noticed since we took her in that her back legs seemed very weak. And sure enough the vet said it looked as though someone had mistreated her. I ended up naming her Karma. It was Good Karma that we had saved her. All I could figure was she had been a Christmas gift that someone got and didnt want, so they just put her out in the hallway. To this day her little back legs are still weak, and she cant make the jumps like our others cats do. And we now tell her that she is our Step-Daughter she was found on a step. We love you Karma and are very proud that you ended up in our home.
