I forgot to take a picture, but I cooked my first wild turkey. It had been skinned. I brined it (should have used a bit more salt), stuffed it with apples, carrots and celery sauteed in bacon grease, then covered that sucker in thick sliced peppered bacon.(pound and a half) Roasted it breast side down (which I never do- I dont follow modern turkey cooking rules usually). I should have flipped it sooner to brown off the top layer of bacon, but cooked it with the lid on and ended up with an actually pretty moist and relatively tender bird. Rather proud of myself. That was my contribution along with a pumpkin pie, which I made without bothering to look up a recipe and was very well received.
