I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. —Isaiah 45:7, KJV When you leave God and break His covenant, God will withdraw His shalom and allow disaster. The enemy will come into your land and destroy you. The sword will come in the land and prosperity will be destroyed. We see that this is true based on the Israelites experiences all through the book of Judges. But God will send warning and correction. He began to send prophets or covenant messengers to a covenant people to warn them of their covenant violation to give them a chance to repent before Gods covenant wrath would come upon them. The prophets repeatedly said that there is no peace to the wicked. If a prophet tells you that you will have a life of peace and you are violating Gods Word—His covenant—the prophet is lying, because you will not experience shalom or peace or prosperity if you are not living in covenant with God. When someone is wicked and unrighteous, they are not at peace. Do not be fooled.
