I found a coat at a thrift store yesterday that was a girl-cut - TopicsExpress

I found a coat at a thrift store yesterday that was a girl-cut version of an old bomber jacket my granddad used to wear. Goddamn if it didnt even smell like him. They wanted $30 for it, which is more than I wanted to pay for a coat, considering I had already picked out this really beautiful cape-style affair for this winter, online, and was just biding my time, waiting for a sale. I carried this coat aound that place for an hour trying to talk myself out of it, but in the end the emotional attachment was just too strong; I paid the lady and left with the it, admittedly feeling a little silly. But, after I got home I looked up the brand online, beause I didnt recognize it, and found similar styles, (not my exact coat, but same cut, material and brand,) retails for $550 and up, and resells on eBay for between $265 and $390. Im not going to sell it for the same reason I ended up buying it in the first place, but it made me feel better about what I had previously viewed as a lapse in fiscal judgment for emotional reasons. As an additional bonus, my husband confessed that he felt that the leather bomber-style coat was a much more accurate outward representation of who I am, and my overall life philosophphilosophy, than the style I had previously picked out. I believe I agree.
