I found a dog last night around 230am. I just got out of the vets office and the dog is not micro chipped and in pretty bad shape. Ive contacted local shelter to tell them I have him so if someone is looking for him theyll know where hes at. Well anyways, hes very thin. Weighs 22 pounds and hes a pit bull mix. Some of his teeth are missing and hes got cuts and open wounds all over his body. The lady at the vet said because he looks older than 4 its in my best interest to sign over rights (didnt realise I had them on a stray?) And he would be euthanized because they believed him to be a bate dog. Well I wasnt letting that happen. Hes not vicious. I tested him with food and he didnt growl or anything. Hes been around my other dog. And he was completely fine, except when he walked in the door he got scared of her. What is the best dog food to get his weight up? Are there any remedies to put on his wounds so hes not in any pain?
