I found something exciting, I hope to have video for you soon. A new right hand technique for me. It might help my poor old tired brain to write it out. With Anthony Phillips playing in the back ground... here we go. It is a fairly obvious Flamenco technique, however, on the 12 it is magic. For lack of a better term I am calling it the triple cascade. I think this is what Im doing... It starts with a thumb downstroke, followed by a thirdfinger upstroke, when that finger hits the 3rd set of strings the secondfinger does an upstroke from the 2nd set of strings, when it hits the 4thset the firstfing does an upstroke from the 3rd, followed by the thumb again. all in a sort of circular pattern. I am seeking the endless chord like the way a good cello player can hold a note indefinitely. By varying the rhythm of the upstrokes I have found some magical sounds. It works best on chords using all 12strings to get the full voice and range of motion. If that isnt too confusing tell me what you think. It helps me if I dont look at it when I play it, just feel it.
