I found the lump in my breast myself!! I was sent for a mamo & an ultrasound because of the lump!! The mamo was first!!! It showed nothing!! If I hadnt found the lump I would have been told, everything looks good, well see you next year!!! Next came the ultrasound! It immediately showed that there was a suspicious mass!! Small, but something to look at closely!! I asked that same day to have a biopsy done & they said, yes come back in 2 hours!! 4 days later, I was told that I had breast cancer!! It was small, so nothing to worry about!!! I never reacted!! I kept a positive attitude & a smile on my face!! Whatever needs to be done, lets do it!!! Had the lumpectomy & they didnt get it all, because it was a lot larger than they thought!! So next decision, did I want to have another lumpectomy after having to heal from the 1st & then possibly, still not getting it all!! I opted to get both off immediately, as I was not willing to get one breast off & then 2 years later find out that I had it in the other, & have to go through it all again!!! All of this time I never reacted!! I guess I stuffed my feelings down, because 2 years later I had a breakdown!! I went through a severe depression!! I cannot even explain the internal pain you go through, when this happens!! It lasted about 9 months!! It was debilitating!! I have never been sooooooo low, & would never wish this on my worst enemy!! I was a lucky one!! I was able to get the depression in check & I did not need to have chemo or radiation!! Just needed to take an estrogen blocker for 10 years, as my cancer was estrogen fed!!! I had reconstruction & I am one of the happiest, most thankful, appreciative people on Earth!!! Thank You God!! I hope I can help someone going through this horrible disease!! I would like to help them to stay positive throughout the whole ordeal!!! There is a light, Gods light, at the end of the tunnel!!! Focus on it & recognize it, it is OUR SAVIOR!!!
