I found this article interesting because it could be something as simple as liking a post, photo, or video that could make you lose your job. Writer: Anna North from New York Times makes you want to think twice before liking anything on Facebook. North states there is a new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that uses a computer to find out which personality type you are based on your Facebook likes. These computer models know you better than your friends, and just as good as your spouse. Research, Wu Youyou says “…computers to some extent know you better than people know themselves.” That is a scary thought and is hard to believe all of this. Wu also believes that with the use of computers, one can find out what people’s personalities are will help marketers alter advertisements to be more appealing, offers job opportunities (such as data analysis), new research and studies can be conducted for college students. Another thing to point out is that this definitely invading on people’s privacy and legal action can be done. Most of these personality tests do not look for your positive attributes but the negative ones and this is why it is such an issue to people. Although this may not be harmful to us now, but being aware that this is something going on makes me want to be more cautious in what I like on Facebook. op-talk.blogs.nytimes/2015/01/20/how-your-facebook-likes-could-cost-you-a-job/?_r=0
