I found this comment on the most recent article about our work written by Illume Magazine. This is quite a humbling statement to read, it really lets us know that the work we do is making a difference, alhumdulillah Just three years ago, I thought all terrorists were Islamic, and vice versa, an unfortunately common thread among much of conservative America. We would often joke about how Islam was the religion of peace and consciously, sometimes subconsciously, avoid contact with anyone we perceived as middle-eastern/Islamic. Now, Muslims For Liberty is my go-to source whenever some of my conservative friends bring out how evil Islam is. They have helped me, not only personally, but also professionally, debunk common myths about Islam and bring facts the to fear-based propaganda that floods our media day in and day out. M4L has done more for Islam and Americans understanding of it than CAIR, or ISNA ever could, because those organizations preach to the choir and M4L does not. They go into the heart of middle America, to people like me who distrust and despise them, and present a human face we have never seen. If there is to be an end to institutional prosecution, and persecution of Muslims in America, M4L will definitely be leading the way.
