I found this to be a fascinating article that goes way beyond what one politician did to ruin a promising future. It gets into the line we have, and have recreated, between what a person in public life is expected to share, and the role of the media. Well worth the read, especially for this journalist turned politician. (I have to add that I was one of the many very broken hearted people who thought, and still think, Gary Hart was one of the most astute political thinkers of a generation. The article ends with a fascinating exchange with his wife that leaves the solid impression that he knows he threw a lot away with some rotten personal choices.
