I gave this post a lot of thought before making it. But in my opinion, I think it is time to consider a Petition to Recall the Board of Elections and seek the resignation of its Director. This conduct is beyond dysfunctional. It has to end. It really is enough now. You can not be Democracys gatekeeper on these islands and behave this way. The answer to the publics every concern can not be take us to court. You can not commit repeated violations of the express provisions of the law and have it stand. You can not ignore subpoenas and travel when one has been issued without leave of the Court--no matter how long your travel plans were made in advance. You just cant. We do not have a monarchy, we have a democracy. I dont think the folks who are behaving this way are intending to be corrupt. I think it is VERY possible for well-intentioned people to be misled or to misunderstand the tenets of the law they are charged with upholding. But regardless, its time. We deserve better than this. SMH.
