I gave up my conservative republican politics a while back. Cold Turkey. Quit listening to Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Savage, Beck, blah, blah, blah. Quit watching the news. Quit listening to the news. Quit reading the paper. Im not sure why. But within a few weeks, my head and heart and vision began to clear. Then, for the first time, I began to be able to really see Jesus. I fell in love. Ive been changing continually ever since. I didnt give up politics because of Jesus. Rather, the result of giving up partisan politics has been my ability to see, fall in love with, and follow Jesus as I never could before. Lots of folk - right AND left - seem to be in bondage to their political ideologies and parties. If Im going to be a slave, or a prisoner, I want it to be to God, and not to a political party or ideology. God has another idea. God calls me friend.
