I get a lot of comments on my bracelets (often theyre good-natured jokes, sometimes theyre snarky comments, and, only once in awhile, derision). Some Beaver fan or Husky flipping me grief for my Duck bracelets is one thing, but I tend to get serious when someone takes the teasing too far about my pink bracelet. Today I got to show someone that its the Suicide Prevention Hotline and it states, clearly, the purpose I wear it - HOPE (Hold On, Pain Ends). There werent any japes after that. Friends, depression is no joke. Suicide is no joke. Show people that you support causes that try to help people who are fighting diseases, mental illness, hopelessness, whether its a bracelet or a kind word, and watch how quickly the light beats the darkness and love defeats pain.
