I get asked alot what it is like being tall. Usually, i make a joke about difficulty buying pants or dating short guys, and tell people its really no different than being a normal height. There is one major difference though- its impossible to blend in with the crowd when youre a head above everyone else. I learned at an early age that Im never going to just be invisible-that whether I like it or not, I was always going to stand out. So, rather than hate it and do my best to fit in, to be like everyone else, I decided to embrace my physical abnormality. Dying my hair silly colors, getting tattooed, wearing heels and dressing how i want- I figure it doesnt matter, people are going to look anyway, might as well give them something to see. im much happier with the freedom to be myself completely than i ever could be with just trying to fit in. Thats why i always tell people to embrace their differences- I would rather be known as that freakishly tall girl who does whatever she wants, than not be known at all.
