I get asked pretty regularly why I do what I do (for marcos). So tonight we go have dinner with some friends in a local bistro where there were only 3 other guests. After a couple of hours the owner (a friend) asks Marcos to play a song or two. Marcos says hes too pissed (which is true) but some gentle persuasion (in the form of shots) makes him oblige. At this point, the Harley Davidson Club of Monaco (yup, that exists) walks in for dinner sporting their standard uniform of leather waistcoats covered in badges, pot bellies, tattoos, goatees and scowls. Within 15 minutes of Marcos playing, 2 of them are wiping tears from their eyes and 3 are comparing goose bumps on their arms. After 5 encores I retired home leaving him to entertain a restaurant choc full of people enjoying music that, like me, they may not choose to listen to regularly, but they cant help but be touched by. And that is why I do it. To help someone whose talent, passion and emotion can touch so many, live a half decent life through doing what he does so brilliantly.
