I get emails nearly everyday from people around the world. Many telling me how much my music has effected both change and personal growth in their lives. This is just one story used by permission... Growing up, I was always taught to chase my dreams. Sports have always been something important in my life. My dad is a coach and my mother went to state in EVERYTHING when she was in high school, so I really didnt have a choice if I wanted to or not. These past couple of years have been tough. My dad left my family, and my brother had a baby. Our family has really been torn apart. A couple of months after that my grandfather passed away. I started having thoughts about suicide and thinking why do I belong on this world? Everything is being taken away from me, so why not just go? I got put on medication because my mother found out what was going on...... Then I discovered your music. Your music brings out so much to me.. Because of your music I started playing piano. I am not very good because I dont know the notes. I listen by ear, or I watch how peoples fingers move on youtube. On your slow and deep songs, I can feel my anger build up inside of me, then when you switch to a high note its just gone. By the end of the song I just feel so much better. I downloaded all of your songs on my phone and whenever I get mad I just listen to your music. Ive also combined your music to when I work out. It pumps me up, and it just gives me the chills. Because of you and your music I am so much better. I am not ashamed to tell you all of this stuff because youre my hero. You may not think you are, but I feel like you are. It really sucks that I wont ever get to see you play, but having your music on my phone is okay for me. Thank you for not being afraid to share your talent with the world, if you wouldnt have. I probably wouldnt be who I am today.
