I get hundreds and sometimes thousands of messages and emails a day. A lot of those messages are from people with ill parents. I always pause and pray when I read those stories. I can relate to those of you who have sick family members. I watched my dad fight a terrible disease my whole life. If youre out there reading this tonight, I want you to know that even when it seems like God doesnt care, believe me, He does. Hes right there with you and your family. He is close to the brokenhearted. You can use this as a time to stand firm and be an example. Thats what my parents did, and it had a lasting impact on my life. Im young, but Ive seen a lot and felt a lot. My mom tells a story about me when I was little. My dad was in bed, lying underneath six blankets trying to get warm. He was shivering uncontrollably from a new medication. She watched me crawl up on his bed and lie on top of him. I was crying. My mom says I said out loud to God, “Please give me the pain and take it away from my dad.” A verse Ive always held close to my chest is this: He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
